SHOPTALK: TWO NEW RESTAURANTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT SANDCREEK COMMONS

A pair of national restaurants will be going into Sandcreek Commons in the coming months.

California-based Blaze Pizza and Utah-based Costa Vida will be located in a building along Sunnyside Road that is currently under construction.

Construction on the restaurants began in early June and theyare expected to open late 2018 or early 2019. Salt Lake City-based Dixon and Associates are the architects on the project, while Ammon-based R. Jay Taylor Construction is the general contractor.

The building that will house Blaze Pizza and Costa Vida is 8,600-square-feet. Vacant space also will be available for rent between the two restaurants.

Eric Isom, chief development officer for Ball Ventures, which owns and operates Sandcreek, said location has been the key factor for most tenants.

"It's at the crossroads of Hitt and Sunnyside, which is an extremely busy intersection," Isom said. "It's on the going-home side of the street, which is Sunnyside. And that's one thing we really look at in terms of real estate development."
