Senior Tax Accountant

Ball Ventures is seeking a detail-oriented and qualified Senior Tax Accountant to prepare tax returns, recommend tax strategies that comply with laws, and promote Ball Venture’s financial wellbeing. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, the ability to meet deadlines, and a keen attention to detail.

Typical Job Functions

  • Review financial statements
  • Prepare tax accounting workpapers
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
  • Project tracking for tax returns
  • Prepare tax payments
  • Record book tax adjustments with accounting department
  • Identify and recommend tax savings and strategies to implement
  • Assist in tax planning and research
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 3-5 years public accounting experience
  • Understanding of pass-through entity level organizational structure and complex transactions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in taxation
  • Ideal candidate would have proven experience as a Tax Accountant or Tax Preparer with federal and state tax returns for S Corp, Partnerships, and Individuals

Staff Accountant

Ball Ventures seeks a self-motivated, team-oriented entry-level Staff Accountant. Duties may include A/P, A/R, monthly account reconciliations, fixed assets, general ledger, journal entries, monthly financial statements, job cost reports, tenant billings, and administrative support for multiple properties.

Typical Job Functions

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet, and security deposit reconciliations
  • Record and deposit payments received (i.e., tenant rent payments, refunds, utility reimbursements, etc.) into the appropriate financial institution
  • Record and process vendor invoices for accurate and timely payment
  • Investigate bank statement reconciliation issues in a timely manner. Immediately notify the Supervisor of any unusual items
  • Prepare and book monthly journal entries related to financial statements
  • Track property tax and insurance payments
  • Analyze monthly financial statements
  • Verify the propriety of recorded payables and receivables, including preparation of management fees
  • Investigate budget variances
  • Ensure all audit/tax adjustments are posted in a timely manner
  • Prepare and review monthly work papers to validate account balances
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate to strong Excel skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Residential and commercial real estate accounting experience
  • Multiple entity experience
  • Public accounting experience
  • Yardi and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience
