Saltzer Health will soon be under new ownership.

Starting Oct. 1, Saltzer Health will join Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, according to a news release. Tommy Ahlquist’s development firm Ball Ventures Ahlquist purchased Saltzer in early 2019.

Saltzer employs 80 physicians and providers and currently services 102,000 patients annually at eight locations in Canyon and Ada counties providing primary, specialty, and urgent care. The company has two clinics and a medical office complex under construction scheduled to open soon.

‘Excited’ to join together

After the sale is finalized, Saltzer will join Intermountain’s 2,500 physicians in Idaho, Utah, and Nevada with a network of 215 clinics and 24 hospitals. In Idaho, Intermountain’s service area includes a hospital and clinics in Burley. Intermountain is a non-profit health system. It is unrelated to local psychiatric facility Intermountain Hospital.

“We’re excited to join together with Saltzer Health,” Marc Harrison, MD, Intermountain president and CEO said in the release. “Both organizations are like-minded and share a commitment to keeping people well and providing the communities we serve with high-quality, value-based care. We’ll bring together unique strengths to provide extraordinary health services to patients.”
